BIS Member site

This member site is for health care professionals such as thoracic surgeons, opthalmologists, orthopaedic surgeons, traumatologists and other specialists.
You can register patients for transplantation of heart valves and corneal tissue using the on-line registration form.
Our lists of available grafts for heart valves and bone tissue are available for persual.
It is also possible to read the relevant parts of the online version of our Quality Manual.

Before you can use this member site, you must apply for an account.
After applying you will receive by e-mail a log-in ID, a password and details of the web application. You will always be able to log on to the BIS members' area, select your own password and use the application.

Instructions on how to apply and on the use of an account can be found in our account rules and guidelines.

Security

The security of patient data is assured by using an SSL connection.
SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. The member section of the website is secured in such a way that it is impossible to gain access to this area without the right codes.
Your details are protected against unauthorised use by means of a user ID and a password. The whole domain is itself  secure and this is shown in the web address bar by the letters 'https' in the URL as well as by a lock symbol at the bottom of the screen.
Double-clicking on this lock symbol allows you to check if you have protected access to BIS, in which case you will see https://www.bisfoundation.org.
